What Are The Effects Of Air Humidity On The Tape? Apr 25, 2018

Sealing tape is not unfamiliar to everyone, and tape has become an indispensable tool in life. The competition for transparent tape on the market is also very fierce. So do you know what effect air humidity has on tape? Here's what we share with you!

The suitable humidity for pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes is about 55% to 80% RH. When the pressure is greater than 80%, for example, tapes (especially water glue) in the summer season contain a small amount of solvent or moisture, which may obscure the adhesiveness of some adhesive tapes. The surface of the adhered object also adsorbs moisture to form a weak interface, which reduces the stickiness of the tape.

When the relative humidity is lower than 55% (such as dry and cold in winter), the adhesive and the adhered object are too dry, which will hinder the wetting and penetration process of the adhesive; when the humidity is reduced, the concentration of dust in the air will rise, and the weak interface will easily occur when pasting. Affect the adhesive to play its viscosity. Therefore, whether the humidity is too high or too low, the adhesive can be made less viscous.
